Ozark Blues Society of Northwest
Arkansas announces the formation of
“Blues Builders,” a new youth band. This
jam band will provide a place for young
musicians to grow in their skills and learn
about blues music. The group is open to
all youths under age 21.
 Young people of
all skill levels are encouraged to join,
however, participants will be expected to
know more than just a few chords.  Check
out the information on our music page to
learn how to prepare for a blues jam.
Monthly jams will be held, as well as once-a-month workshops for the
various instruments of the blues including; guitar, drums, bass, harp,
and vocals. Equipment is available to use at all jam sessions, though
youths may bring their own guitars, drumsticks and other small
equipment. Those playing harmonica or other wind instruments should
bring their instruments. Initial jams will be held at the home studio of
Ozark Blues Society volunteers, Roy and Sandy McCann, in
Fayetteville, Arkansas. Parents are welcome to attend.

It is the hope of Ozark Blues Society that from Blues Builders will
come the young artists of the next blues bands of this area! Why not
join the fun?
